Quex Craft Village

Quex Craft Village

Jungle Jim’s complex contains The Isle of Thanet’s only full-time craft village which has been set amongst it’s converted farm outbuildings.

Visitors are invited to interact with the artists and craft workers and see the crafts being undertaken. These suit all ages and children are particularly welcome to visit. Some of the craft workers are trained to teach children so there are many workshops and activities for children to undertake.

All of the craft workers accept commissions as well as offering their quality goods for sale and all work is produced on site.

The crafts currently include:

  • The Krafty Moo Studio (Personalised gifts, stencils, signs)
  • Artisan Jeweller and Silversmith
  • Nelson Were Fashion & Leatherworker
  • Love of Grace Studios
  • Nick Toy (Bowyer) Classic Bows.
  • Turner Rowe Designs Glass art
  • Helen Evans Art
  • The Pig Shed
  • Peter Campbell Saunders – Original Art works
  • Sew Many Memories

Helen Evans Art

Helen studied graphic design at Camberwell school of Art quite a while ago. She can be found most days (never mondays though) at her studio in the beautiful setting of Quex Craft Village, Kent. Helen works in lino print, pastel & anything else that takes her fancy. Her work often depicts urban animals- especially pigeons, seagulls & foxes. Sometimes there is an odd story attached to the image but not always…

Each piece is individually handmade to order using traditional leather craft techniques and high quality leather sourced from businesses within Great Britain. Workshops are available.

Nick Toy (Bowyer) Classic Bows

Inspired by weapons from the past, I create longbows to meet the exacting requirements of archers of today.  Yew may be a difficult material to resource these days but modern craft techniques offer valuable, versatile alternatives.  I laminate a variety of woods to closely simulate the power and characteristics of the medieval original.
